ARISE thanks Jason Noyes for coordinating motorcycle ride

OSWEGO, NY – Jason Noyes has once again honored ARISE and will serve as the motorcycle ride coordinator for the 2014 Ride for Ramps event on May 31. Jason has played this role since creating the event to help raise money for the Oswego County Ramp Program.

“I would like to see ARISE & Ride for Ramps become one of the bigger rides so that everyone who needs a ramp is able to get one,” said Jason. Jason is 37-years old and a truck driver by trade who enjoys his free time on his bike. ARISE would like to acknowledge Jason for starting the ride and for assisting with its growth over the past six years.

All proceeds from the annual fundraising event are used to buy lumber and other construction materials. With these materials and support from volunteers, ARISE is able to build accessible ramps for people who cannot afford that essential home modification. The addition of a ramp means that people are able to remain or return home, thereby regaining access to the community and the freedom to live independently.

Motorcycle check-in starts at 9:30 a.m. and goes kickstands up at 10:30 a.m. from Lighthouse Lanes. There is a chicken barbecue waiting for riders when they return.

You can purchase pre-sale registration tickets at the ARISE Oswego Office (342-4088), Murdock’s Bicycle and Sports (342-6848), and the Coffee Connection (342-6916).

Online registration is also available at rideforramps.org

ARISE & Ride for Ramps is supported by the Oswego Speedway, Lighthouse Lanes, Compass Credit Union, Shineman Foundation, NewsChannel 9, Murdock’s Bicycles & Sports, Precision Sign & Graphics and Zink Shirts.
