FULTON – In a move meant to capture a better art experience for art lovers, CNY Arts Center announces the transition of their downtown Arts in the Heart Gallery to Arts in the Heart Studio.
Arts in the Heart Gallery recently moved to CNY Arts Center’s new facility in River Glen Plaza on the CCC Campus.
The downtown location at 47 S. First St. will become Arts in the HeArt Studio.
The studio will offer art classes for a variety of art mediums including painting, photography, knit and crochet, watercolor and more.
The space will also give artists a place to meet and exchange ideas, work on long-term projects and strengthen the artistic community building relationships and economic opportunities.
Children’s classes can be offered on the weekends and during winter and spring break, as well as summer long programming.
Writing and culinary classes will return to arts programming with the space accessibility.
“We looked at our wonderful new space at CCC and realized the gallery needed to be housed in the same location for staffing needs and increased exposure,” said Nancy Fox, executive director. “At the same time, the tremendous asset of the downtown location for dedicated art studio space – space that doesn’t have to be shared or converted back to other uses after each class – just leaped out at us and it became obvious we needed to commit to the move. We have high expectation for the transition and many creative ideas for programming. Artists as teachers will have room to teach and nurture and stimulate creative thinking and develop talent. We are maximizing the potential of what has been generously offered from the business and academic community in support. We think the Fulton community will ultimately be the beneficiaries of this move as we expand our programming with these two locations. The support has been overwhelming and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
An oil painting class has been scheduled with Bonnie McClellan, January 8, time TBD.
A complete calendar of classes at Arts in the HeArt Studio will be available online at www.CNYArtsCenter.com updated as each new class is scheduled.
Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure a class is not canceled for lack of interest.
