Rev. Bradshaw’s husband, Arnold, received care at Syracuse’s Veteran’s Administration Hospital and her intimate recalling of that experience takes an honest look at the care a person who is hospitalized receives and the sometimes anguishing role of a loving spouse.

“From the very first day that Arnold entered the VA Hospital I kept a journal,” said Rev. Bradshaw. “This book chronicles the progression of the disease and the challenges we faced trying to give Arnold the care he needed. It also includes true World War II experiences as Arnold relayed them to me before Alzheimer’s took its toll.”

Reverend Bradshaw graduated from Empire State College with a BS degree and from Colgate-Rochester with a Master of Divinity Degree.

She has served as an officer (captain) in the Salvation Army and as a United Methodist Minister in Pennellville, NY.

I Am Arnold is her first book.

The Author’s Spotlight program will feature a reading from the book by Rev. Bradshaw, a discussion about how she came to write it and a question and answer period.

Following the program, those in attendance can meet the author and purchase a signed copy of her book.

There is no cost to attend the program and refreshments will be served.

It will be held at the CNY Arts Center, 357 State St., in Fulton.
