Samaritan’s Good Deed Ends in Fatal Accident

The front of the Chevy Blazer driven by Pedro Lugo, as it sat on a flatbed tow truck for removal from the scene.Pedro Lugo stopped along Route 3 to do a good deed.  A car was disabled along the side of the road and Lugo stopped to help.  He completed one task, then decided to circle his car around to take care of the rest.

Seconds later, his SUV was smashed broadside by a tractor-trailer.

Hannibal Town Officials Urge No Travel

Hannibal Town officials are asking people to avoid driving on town roads until at least 2:00 p.m. until the lake effect snow band lets up and highway crews can plow the roads.

The Hannibal Town Hall has been closed for the day.

The lake effect band has been sitting over Hannibal for several hours this morning and highway crews are having a difficult time keeping the roads plowed, Town Supervisor Ron Greenleaf said. Visibility conditions are very poor and driving conditions are treacherous.

Police: Two Employees Stole from Granby Convenience Store

Crystal N. Hines-Carvey, 28, of 12 Germandale Drive, Fulton was charged with a felony count of grand larceny by Oswego County Sheriff’s deputies. Theressa A. Castillo, 43, of 6014 Manley Drive, Red Creek, was charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
