Authorities Continue To Search In Mexico

Continuing search update Sunday 08/24/2014

MEXICO, NY – As part of a continuing investigation, Sunday 08/24/2014 the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team completed a ground search of properties in the town of Mexico.

Also assisting in the search were the Onondaga County Wilderness Search and Rescue Team and New York State Police K-9 Units.

Approximately 25 personnel on multiple teams continued a search that had been started on Saturday 08/23/2014 of several hundred acres of woodland.

Nothing of evidentiary value was found that would link to the investigation.

OSWEGO, NY – As part of a continuing investigation, on Saturday (Aug. 23), the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team conducted a ground search of properties in the town of Mexico.

Also assisting in the search were the Onondaga County Wilderness Search and Rescue Team, Cayuga County Highland Search and Rescue Team and Members of the Parish Volunteer Fire Department.

Assistance was provided by the Oswego County Coroners’ Office and the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

More than 40 personnel on multiple teams searched several hundred acres of woodland and nothing of evidentiary value was found that would link to the investigation.

A small planting of immature marihuana plants was harvested for destruction.

Search teams did locate several small bones that were deemed to be animal in origin.
