OSWEGO, NY (December 8) – On Wednesday, December 29, and Thursday, December 30, the American Red Cross of Central New York will offer a two day Babysitter’s Training class, located at the Oswego branch office, 333 West First Street in Oswego. The Wednesday class will run from 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m., while the Thursday class will run from 9:00a.m. – 1:30p.m.
Babysitter’s Training classes are highly recommended for youth between the ages of eleven and fifteen. The training will prepare young babysitters for any situation they may have to handle, as well as preparing babysitters to take advantage of more opportunities.
Participants will learn important skills such as: how to prevent misbehavior appropriately while helping children engage in desired behaviors, how to recognize and deal with an emergency with both children and infants, basic child care, changing a diaper, feeding infants, and many other necessary babysitting skills.
With a certification from the American Red Cross, participants will not only have gained the skills and knowledge needed to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation, but they will also be able to demonstrate to parents of young children their knowledge and take advantage of more babysitting opportunities.
If interested or would like more information, or to register for the class, please contact the Oswego branch office at 343-0967 or visit the Red Cross on the web at www.redcrosscny.org. Become prepared; become an American Red Cross certified babysitter.
