OSWEGO, NY – The final race of the 2012 season at Oswego Speedway is Saturday and Oswego State students are invited to come out and join the fun.
This Saturday’s Fall Championship special will offer a half price admission discount of only $10 to O.S.U. students with a valid I.D.
Those students who may be new to the Speedway can expect a very fast night of racing with action the likes of which they have never seen.
Concession stands will be open at 3:30 p.m. offering a wealth of outstanding items including Hoffman hot dogs, Bosco & Geers sausage, Coca-Cola soft drink products, as well as Eagle Beverage beer products.
All of the items previously mentioned are also offered in very affordable meal options.
New to the Speedway this season is the Oswego Speedway Tiki-Bar. The Tiki-Bar will be open throughout the night offering a perfect place to gather with friends before and between races.
The night’s festivities are expected to be completed by 9:30 p.m. allowing ample time to join the Oswego nightlife downtown.
For the first time since 2006 the Speedway will be hosting a post-Classic Weekend event with a 75-lap Novelis Supermodified feature and a 35-lap Pathfinder Bank SBS main on Saturday evening.
Grandstand gates will open at 3:30 p.m. with the night’s first green flag scheduled for 6 p.m.
Regular general admission tickets will be on sale for $20 with padded reserved seats available for $25. Select VIP suite seats are also available for Saturday 15 for $75 which includes all you can eat food and drink as well as a free race program, air conditioning, and closed circuit flat panel televisions.
All of the top Novelis Supermodified competitors are expected to be in action Saturday night in search of the $2,500 top prize including 2012 Budweiser International Classic champion Otto Sitterly, 2012 championship runner-up Pat Lavery, 2011 track champion Joe Gosek, as well as International Supermodified Association (ISMA) top runner Jeff Locke.
Joining the Novelis Supermodifieds will be the Pathfinder Bank SBS series and included in the field will be top dirt Sportsman competitor Jeremy Pitcher. Pitcher, who won the Sportsman Classic 30 on Labor Day Weekend at the Speedway, will be behind the wheel of a Jason Simmons prepared machine.
