Barclay joined several of his colleagues and approximately ten thousand sportsmen and other Second Amendment supporters in what was one of the largest rallies in New York State history.

“This event sent a powerful message to the governor and the entire nation that the NY SAFE Act is an infringement upon the Second Amendment right of responsible sportsmen and gun owners,” said Barclay. “It was truly an honor to take part in this day and join thousands of law-abiding residents statewide in standing up for our rights.”

“It’s clear that the SAFE Act infringes on the rights of law-abiding citizens, many of whom came to Albany today to voice their opposition,” added Assemblyman Bob Oaks. “As I said after bill was passed, its provisions will not prevent future gun violence because it will not keep guns out of the hands of criminals and those who do not respect the law.”
