Tyler Pickard is this yearÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢s New York State Department of Environmental Education Camp scholar. Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,IÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬ÂPulaski) presented this scholarship to Tyler based on an essay he wrote about why the environment is important.
The $250 camp fees are waived for the selected winner.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â Tyler will attend Camp Pack Forest, located in Warren County in the Adirondacks.Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â The camp is located along the Hudson River and is comprised of 85 acres of trails, marshes and mountain vistas.
Tyler said he has always been interested in wilderness and is encouraged by his family to hunt and fish. Tyler is a Fulton resident.
