Bart M. Miceli, 86, a resident of 52 West Mohawk St. Oswego, passed away August 22, 2011 at home surrounded by his wife and children.
Born in San Giuseppe Jato, Palermo Province, Sicily, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Maria (Migiliore) Miceli.
He was a US Army Veteran who served during WWII in the Pacific Theater.
Bart pitched semi-professional baseball in the Canadian American League for the Oswego Zephyrs.
He worked as a Mechanic for Niagara Mohawk for 41 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, trips to the casino and spending time with friends and family. He was an avid Yankee’s fan.
Bart was a member of the B.P.O.E. #271, the American Legion and the I.B.E.W. local 97.
Surviving are his wife, Joan (Kucharski) Miceli; two daughters, Lisa (Pat) Schrader of Oswego and Kathy (Michael) Turrin of Brewster, NY; three sons, Charles (Mari) Miceli of Burlington, VT; Tom (Cathy) Miceli of Oswego; Bart (Kristen) Miceli of Huntington, VT; two brothers, Frank (Theresa) Miceli of Pleasant Hill, CA; Rev. Matthew Miceli CSC of the University of Notre Dame; a son in law Andrew Clark of New Castle, England; twelve grandchildren, Patrick Schrader III, Vanessa Schrader, Jake Turrin, Jessie Turrin, Ashley Miceli, Andrea Miceli, Laura Miceli, Grace Miceli, Gianni Miceli, Carmelo Miceli, Anastasia Miceli and Joseph Clark.
He was predeceased by a daughter Mary Beth Clark and a grandchild Jack Andrew Clark.
Funeral Services will be held 10a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Wednesday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
