OSWEGO, NY – Oswego native Chelsea Bartlett becomes the second Oswego Harborfest intern to take on a staff position in as many years as she was recently named Volunteer Coordinator for the 26th festival which runs from July 25 through 28.
Former intern Dorothy Strahley will complete her second year as the staff’s Vendor Coordinator with the conclusion of the 2013 event.
Bartlett, completing her Associates Degree in Tourism Management, was accepted as an intern for 2013 at the number one attendance tourism event in all of Oswego County, Harborfest.
In her duties as the new Volunteer Coordinator, she will oversee the nearly 400 volunteers that sign up for the PathFinder Bank Volunteer Program.
PathFinder Bank provides what may be one of the most needed sponsorships year in and year out at Harborfest.
The annual summertime event plays host to hundreds of volunteers and PathFinder Bank supports this program as its title sponsor.
Plenty of brightly colored PathFinder Bank Volunteer T-Shirts will be almost everywhere you look during the four days of the festival and it is with the help of PathFinder Bank for this program to be as well rounded as it is.
The volunteers are clearly the backbone of the festival with many having stepped up to help for more than two decades.
Applications to volunteer for the 2013 Harborfest may be downloaded from the Volunteer Tab on the Harborfest website at www.oswegoharborfest.com or they may be picked up in person at the west end of the McCrobie Building on Lake Street.
