Coordinated by a coalition of human service agencies, “Playing 4 Poverty” is an exciting, fun event that seeks to raise awareness of hunger and poverty in Oswego County and help garner support for Oswego County’s food pantries.

Scheduled for Sept. 11, the third annual “Playing 4 Poverty” will be held at Bullhead Point.

The event will feature a full day of music, food, and fun.

Committee member Heather Robinson of Oswego County Opportunities’ Street Outreach Services is looking forward to bringing community members together to raise monetary and food donations that will help combat hunger and poverty in Oswego County.

“Playing For Poverty” is about both raising awareness of a very real problem and working toward a solution. Now through the end of August we will be accepting cash donations and non-perishable food items for area food pantries, as well as raffle items to be used the day of the event,” she said.

Robinson added that sponsorships at a variety of levels are available to area businesses and organizations that would like to be a part of this worthwhile community event.

“We are very appreciative of the generous donation we received from The Believer’s Chapel. This fun, family friendly event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy a day of music and food while coming together to help improve the quality of life for others. I encourage other groups, organizations and businesses to join us in our effort to fight hunger and poverty in Oswego County,” she added.

For more information, or to see how you can be involved as an official sponsor, call Robinson at (315) 342-7532.
