Benedetto Announces Decision to Withdraw from Family Court Election

AMBOY – Attorney Thom Benedetto today (Sept. 24) announced his decision to withdraw from the Oswego County Family Court Judge election. Benedetto received the Conservative party endorsement in the September primary.

Benedetto thanked all who offered support and encouragement during his door-to-door campaign for the Republican and Conservative lines for the new Oswego County Family Court Judge seat.

“Throughout every step in this process I have thought long and hard about what is best for Oswego County, Family Court, and my family,” said Benedetto. “As I stated during the campaign, my commitment to my family is my first priority. This past weekend my family and I reflected, and, working with the leaders of the Republican and Conservative parties, I made the decision to take the necessary steps to remove my name from the Oswego County general election ballot.”

“It has been my hope throughout this process to put forth new ideas and a common sense approach to Family Court. I believe I have done that. I have all the confidence in the world in the results of the primary and I am thankful not only for those who have supported my campaign, but also for all those involved in this process.  I thank my opponents for running clean and respectable campaigns. I appreciate their courage and commitment to working to make Oswego County a better place to live and raise a family,” he continued.

“Running for public office requires sacrifices all along the way. I especially want to thank my family, friends, and all those I met along the campaign trail. I am proud of what we accomplished together. Truly, this was a phenomenal experience that I will never forget,” he added.
