FULTON, NY – Bertha M. “Bert” Engle, 86, of Fulton, passed away Sunday May 10, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Liverpool, she had lived in Fulton for 65 years.

Bert enjoyed bowling, rug hooking and gambling.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 68 years.

Bert is survived by her husband of 66 years, Richard S. Engle of Fulton; a son, Richard J. (Theresa) of North  Syracuse; a daughter, Jo-Ann M. Heer of Fulton; two sisters, Esther (Ken) Sweet and Dorothy (John) Reiffenstein; four grandchildren, Jason Engle, Lyniea (Adam) Gardner, Laura (Brad) Miller and Bethany Engle; six great-grandchildren, Allyson, Jillian, Spencer, Shelby, Lincoln and Everly; nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Section 24 at Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, 13088 or to American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Road, East Syracuse, 13057.

    I am so sorry to hear of Bert’s passing. She was always such a kind, patient, and gentle soul. I know she will be missed. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
