Laughter and music filled Fulton’s Lanigan and Granby elementary schools recently as New York Times bestselling author Eric Litwin took the stage.
The former educator-turned-writer and performer entertained his audience as he strummed his guitar, played the harmonica, sang songs and read some of his books.
Using humor and music, Litwin engaged the crowd as he invited teachers, students and administrators to help him act out and read books from his “Pete the Cat” series.
Lanigan students cheered and doubled over in laughter as Principal Jeff Hendrickson hopped on stage to join the animated author in reading one of his new books, “Bedtime at the Nut House.”
“That was amazing, his energy was contagious,” said Lanigan library media specialist Jessica Somers. “The kids love his books so much that we can’t keep them on the shelf.”
His performance at Granby was met with the same success, according to Granby Elementary School Principal Heather Perry. “Everyone was talking about it, the students absolutely loved it,” she said.
