OSWEGO, NY – Betty J. Van Buren, 85, a resident of Oswego, passed away on Thursday January 5, 2017, at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Harrisville, NY, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Andalushia (Clark) Brown.
She was a graduate of Oswego High School and the Rochester Business Institute.
She was the owner and operator of Brooks Accounting.
She was a member of the Tops Club and the Senior Citizens in New Haven.
Betty enjoyed playing bingo and her many trips to the Turning Stone.
Surviving are her husband of 19 years, Glen Van Buren, of Oswego; a daughter, Lisa (Ray) Langlois of South Carolina; a stepson, Martin (Angela) Van Buren; her beloved dog, Dakota; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Jerry Cliff, in 1984; her son, Jerry Cliff, in 2011; two sisters, her twin, Barbara Harris and Arlene Davis; and her brother, Bud Brown.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Dowdle Funeral Home.
