Phil Markert will perform a blend of holiday tunes and other favorites on December 18 in the Grand Dining Room at Bishop’s Commons.

The event is free of charge and open to the public, no reservations are required. Delicious seasonal desserts will be served along with hot beverages to help get everyone in that holiday spirit.

Markert has enjoyed entertaining audiences of all ages for more than 40 years through radio, TV, stage and screen, and thousands of live appearances.

He has recently retired from a 10-year run on WTAL radio, where he entertained generations of fans with live in-studio piano, colorful yarns and stories, call-ins from the listeners, and both rare and memorable songs from today and yesterday.

He now makes the occasional film and TV appearance, live theater, and his one of a kind “Let Me Entertain You” Show which provides stories, comedy, and of course live piano music and sing-along songs for his audiences.

Markert will be performing many of the seasonal favorites we have come to know and love, but with a flair only he can bring to a song.

“Listening to Phil perform or joining him in a sing-along will certainly bring a smile to your face,” said Cheryl Cullinan, activities director at Bishop’s Commons. “This a great way to put aside all the stresses of the holiday season. Sit back, relax and enjoy some wonderful music and more than a few laughs while sampling some delicious holiday-inspired treats made especially by our dining staff.”

Tours of the Bishop’s Commons will be available to anyone who is interested at the conclusion of the performance.

Bishop’s Commons is located at 4 Burkle St.
