OSWEGO, NY – An Oswego holiday tradition continues as Bosco’s holds its third Annual Christmas Expo on Dec. 5 from noon to 5 p.m.
Hosted by the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St., the expo combines the joy of holiday shopping with the tastes and smells of the holiday season.
While the event will host a number of area businesses who will be displaying a great selection of holiday gift ideas, the highlight of the event will be the many holiday cooking demonstrations from local restaurants as well as demonstrations on preparing and cooking some of Bosco’s favorite holiday recipes.
More importantly, Bosco’s Christmas Expo serves as a fundraiser for two very worthy organizations,
ARISE of Oswego County and the Anderson Center for Autism, which serves families throughout New York State.
These two human service agencies do much for children with special needs, a cause that event organizer John Bosco, holds dear.
“The great professionals at ARISE and the Anderson Center for Autism have been a great help to many families like my own who have children with special needs. Giving back to these organizations is not just good for my son and the families who currently use their services, but also for the children who have yet to be born, as underprivileged children and children with special needs will always be with us. What we do as a community today will benefit these children in the future. Organizations like ARISE and the Anderson Center for Autism not only help them navigate the difficulties of life in an unforgiving world, but also make sure they have a meaningful, happy, and rewarding life. They provide a ray of hope in what at times feels like a dark and hopeless situation. Raising money for these two not for profit organizations is a great way to say we care,” he said.
Pete Williams, service coordinator supervisor with ARISE of Oswego County, was pleased that Bosco’s chose to recognize ARISE at this year’s event.
“We appreciate having John Bosco and his family select ARISE as one of the recipients of proceeds raised through their annual Christmas Expo and fundraiser. The funds raised will help us assist families who have children with special needs throughout Oswego County,” he said.
Admission to the expo is only $10 for adults with children 10 and under admitted free.
