Bowling Fundraiser Set For Fulton Jr. High Student’s Cancer Fight; Bowlers Wanted

Bowlers are wanted for a fundraiser Saturday on behalf of the family of Joshua Brown.

Joshua is a student at Fulton Junior High School. He fought brain cancer two years ago, but the cancer has returned. He recently underwent surgery and will soon begin chemotherapy at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse. His mother, Stacy, is staying at the hospital with Joshua.

His sisters, Airyona and Luvlee Croce, swim with the Fulton YMCA Speed Demons club team, which has banded together to host a fundraiser for his family. The family of seven has no health insurance and they can’t afford to fix their damaged car.

The team is hosting a Family Cosmic Bowling Night at Lakeview Lanes, Route 3, Fulton, starting at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12. There will be two squads, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The cost is $10 per person if registered in advance or $12 at the door. The price includes shoe rental. Squads are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Those seeking to pre-register can call Sandy Strauss at 725-9595.

There will also be drawings, raffles and a bake sale.

The team would like to give special thanks to Mike Tryniski, owner of Lakeview Lanes, who is donating $6 of every registration to the fundraiser. Every dollar raised will be given to the family for their medical and living expenses.

Donations for the family are also being accepted. Checks can be made out to the Fulton Speed Demons and sent to Sandy Strauss, 123 Baldwin Rd., Fulton, NY, 13069.
