Bruce A. Roy

OSWEGO, NY – Bruce A. Roy, 60, a resident of 157 E. Eighth St., passed away on Tuesday March 15, 2011, at his home.

Born in Fulton, he was a son of the late Oscar and Ann (Pontante) Roy.

He attended the Minetto Elementary School and St. Paul’s School and was a graduate
of Oswego High School.

He was a member of Laborers Local #214 for 25 years and had worked on many
local construction projects.

Mr. Roy was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1971-1973.

He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed collecting antiques.

Surviving are his son, Chad (Kelly) Roy of Syracuse; four brothers, Gary (Beverly) Roy of Oswego, Darryl Matthew Roy of Minetto, Gerard (Geralyn) Roy of Oswego and Patrick (Jennifer) Roy of Syracuse; three sisters, Rosanne (Gene) Rahrle of
Syracuse, Rita (Brant) Messer of Baldwinsville and Susan (Michael) Savana of Waco Texas; several nieces and nephews, cousins and his dog, Piko.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Perpetual
Help Church in Minetto.

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5575 Thompson Road, Syracuse, NY 13214-1693.
