Canale’s Restaurant sponsors Harborfest ‘Volunteer Appreciation Night’

OSWEGO, NY – Every year since 1974, the nation has recognized volunteers for all that they do to help promote things in their communities.

For 2013, April 21 through 27 has been designated as National Volunteer Week.

As Harborfest prepares for its 26th event this July, it is important to recognize those volunteers that are necessary to make each festival a success.

A pre-Harborfest recognition night, sponsored by Canale’s Restaurant, has been set aside for April 22.

Each year, Harborfest requires the assistance of more than 400 volunteers to make the festival happen.

Every show, band, children’s activity and trolley ride is present because of sponsorship and generous people that donate their time to promote the festival and the city.

PathFinder Bank is the annual sponsor of the volunteer program and without them the program would not be what it has grown to become.

You will see hundreds of PathFinder Bank T-shirts on the volunteers, park managers, stage managers, stage crew and logistics staff throughout the festival.

All volunteers will receive gift bags provided by the Nelson Law Firm, which are filled with various items donated by Harborfest sponsors and business members, and they also get to enjoy a picnic in Breitbeck Park courtesy of Garafolo’s.

In 2013, for the first time ever, the volunteers will be recognized in a pre-festival event as Canale’s Restaurant will be sponsoring the Harborfest “PathFinder Bank Volunteer Appreciation Night” on April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the McCrobie Building ballroom.

This gathering will follow the monthly board of directors meeting for Harborfest.

Board members will get to mingle and thank the volunteers for their past support of the festival and for their upcoming work for the 2013 event which is slated to run from July 25 through 28.

Harborfest would like to thank Canale’s Restaurant for sponsoring this event and looks forward to seeing many old and new faces on that night. missing or outdated ad config
