Busy Little Beavers

Submitted article

Beavers are Mother Nature’s “Bob the Builder”. They use tools in their tool belt to build their homes out of sticks, branches, and mud. While they are at it, beavers make habitat for other creatures too. Nature Chris will lead a walk to a beaver dam and lodge, and explore the habitat they’ve created during Busy Little Beaver on October 18, 2008 at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center from 10:00- 11:00 am . Program participants will learn about the beaver’s home and what makes them such special animals while getting dressed up like a beaver, singing the beaver song, and listening to a beaver tale.

Busy Little Beaver is designed for preschool children ages 3-5 with an adult companion.  There is a $3.00 adult/child pair and an additional child participant is $2.00.  Registration fees will be collected on the day of the program.  Busy Little Beaver is an indoor/outdoor program. All program participants need to be dressed to go outside. This program is designed for families.  Schools, youth groups, daycare centers and playgroups need to make a reservation for a separate guided program.

The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center is located at 748 State Route 183 in Amboy, eastern Oswego County. Please call Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County to sign up for this program, 963-7286 ext 401.
