OSWEGO, NY – Oswego High School junior Criszer Cabanlig was awarded “Best of Show” at the 17th Annual Oswego County Art Competition held at the Pulaski Salmon River Fine Arts Center.
Melissa Martin, OHS art teacher, explained, “This is a juried show and this year received over 600 entries, accepting approximately 50% to be hung in the gallery.”
Cabanlig created a self portrait entitled, “Don’t put your eye out”
Another junior, Aviriana Follet was awarded third place overall for a jewelry piece entitled “Metallic Feathers.”
Honorable Mention Awards also went to OHS students Paige Hart, Megan Mahaney, Taylor Braun, Emily Henderson, Chrissy Abare, Cabanlig and Follet.
Oswego Middle School students Mikayla Trapasso and Austin Medley each earned Honorable Mention recognition.
