There will be an Opening Reception, Friday night, September 4th, from 6pm-9pm at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center, 19 Lake Street, Pulaski, NY.

“CALLED TO DUTY” is a collection of photographs by Stacey L. Wolcott documenting how local volunteer firefighters serve their community in multiple ways. It has been said that being a firefighter is not a job, it is a calling, and this is a look into the remarkable individuals who are called to this service. The show highlights the Ringgold Fire Company in Pulaski and includes many other surrounding fire departments. All aspects of fire fighting are being represented including rescues, fire, accidents and all calls that the volunteers attend. It also documents the rigorous trainings members go through.

The reception will be catered by the Edible Construction Bakery and Café and is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

“CALLED TO DUTY” is made possible in part through a generous grant from Entergy. It will be on display in the Main Gallery at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center for the month of September. On display in the Community Gallery, in conjunction with this show, the Ringgold Fire Company in Pulaski will also be displaying historical photographs from the department and collections from its members, families and friends.
