MEXICO – Art in the Park 2015 is fast approaching. Mark your calendars – June 7 from noon – 6 p.m. at Mexico Point Park.
This year, visitors will be able to meet with local author and illustrator Daniel Middleton. He will be gracing the park’s stage to showcase his new children’s picture book and signing books – a great gift idea for children.

Meanwhile in the cottage, local artist Ken Richards will be honored. Richards carved four of the Park People statues.
There will be face painting and a “create” table for take-home crafting.
Black Creek Cafe, located on Main Street in Mexico, will be out at the park with a selection of their delicious beverages and baked goods.
Local paper crafting Apeeling will have a table set up with items for sale.
Local sewing group, “Sip’n Stitch,” will have a table set up where interested people may sign up for a beginner’s sewing group. There will be sewing projects on show and for sale. Local artists and crafters of all ages are welcome to set up a table for show and sale.
Set up is free.
Each participant is asked to donate one item to be raffled off.
Mexico Point Park is home to two beautiful nature trails one of which leads to the Spy Island burial site of Revolutionary War hero Silas Towne.
Tours of Casey’s Cottage will be available.
There are picnic tables and plenty of lovely shaded blanket space to enjoy the wonderful lake views.
