OSWEGO – There is still time for children ages eight through 12 to apply for overnight camping programs this summer at Camp Hollis. Now in its 64th season, Camp Hollis is located off Lake Shore Road in the Town of Oswego. The children’s camp is owned by the County of Oswego and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
The Youth Bureau will offer a special first-time camping program for 8-year-olds Thursday and Friday, July 1 and 2. The two-day/one-night session is designed for children who are first-time campers. Children will participate in traditional summer camp programs such as swimming, arts and crafts, nature walks, campfire sing-a-longs and sports. Nutritious meals and snacks will be provided.
Openings are also available for older children who wish to attend one of the five-day sessions at Camp Hollis, including the session running the week of July 4 through 9, which serves 9- and 10-year-olds.
The registration fee is based on family income. For more information and an application, visit the Camp Hollis Web site at www.oswegocounty.com/youth/hollis or contact the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau at 349-3451.
