OSWEGO TOWN, NY – The public is invited to attend a fun-filled open house at Camp Hollis from 1 to 4 p.m. May 17.
Hosted by the Friends of Camp Hollis, a not-for-profit support group for the children’s camp, the event is a great opportunity for parents and children to visit the site, ask questions, meet camp staff, and experience a taste of the camping environment.
Registration forms, scholarship applications, and parent handbooks will be available for parents and families to take and fill out.
Camp staff will be on site to give tours and answer questions.
Owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, Camp Hollis offers weeklong camping sessions for children between the ages of 9 and 14 starting June 28, and an overnight mini-camp for 8-year-olds June 25 to June 26.
Camp Hollis is located at 40 Health Camp Road, off Lakeshore Road in the town of Oswego.
Registration fees are on a sliding scale. Families who may need financial assistance may contact the Youth Bureau.
Scholarships are offered by the Friends of Camp Hollis, and assistance is available through the Department of Social Services for eligible families to send their 9-to 14-year-old children to camp for a week at no cost to the family.
