The highlight of the Cancer Services Program’s awareness campaign takes place October 28, at Bullhead Point in Fulton from 10 a.m. to noon.

Community members are invited to get their pink on and help OCO form a Human Pink Ribbon at 11:40 a.m.

“Our goal continues to be to raise awareness and register eligible community members who are both uninsured and between 40 and 64 years of age into the program to obtain their free cancer screenings. October provides an added opportunity for the Cancer Services Program to promote the services offered through the program and to support the many community members in Oswego County that have been affected by this disease,” said OCO Cancer Services Coordinator Carolyn Handville.

The Human Ribbon is part of a breast cancer awareness event that begins at 10 a.m. and includes free gifts, free drawings and refreshments, a variety of vendors, music, and rock painting, as well as health related information.

Eligible community members will also be able to schedule an appointments for free mammograms and clinical breast exams as well as other cancer screenings.

“We’re looking forward to our 8th Annual Human Pink Ribbon,” said Handville. “Each year more and more community members are participating to form our Human Pink Ribbon. We are excited to welcome this year’s participants and anticipate creating our largest Human Pink Ribbon yet!”
