UPDATE 155 PM:
December 22, 2016 – Fulton Police and Fire responded to an earlier accident involving a vehicle striking a house on West First Street South (SR 48) near Curtis Street in the City of Fulton.
The driver had been transported to Oswego Hospital where he was pronounced dead due to a medical condition that had apparently been the contributing factor that caused the accident.
The driver has been identified as Michael Harris, 62 years of age, of Hannibal, NY.
The roadway has now been reopened to traffic.
UPDATED info from FPD:
First Fulton Police Officers on scene, including an off duty officer, found the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was still in the vehicle with flames coming from the area of the engine.
Officers were able to remove the driver from the car while another officer located two residents inside the house and helped escort them out.
The driver of the vehicle was later transported to a local hospital.
Fulton Police and Fire were able to contain the fire to the vehicle and a small portion of the house.
The street was (unofficially) reopened around 1:30
Another report will follow when the roadway is opened again with any available updates of the condition of the driver. No other information is available for release at this time, police said.

FULTON, NY – Deputy Chief of Police Jason Delano has confirmed that a one-vehicle accident on West First Street South in Fulton involved a vehicle crashing into a house.
The report was made at 9:19 a.m. at which time Fulton Police and Fire Department responded to the accident to extinguish the resulting fire and remove the driver from the vehicle, Delano said.
The driver, yet to be identified, was transported to an unknown hospital by ambulance. Additionally, there were two confirmed people in the house that were unharmed in the accident.
Traffic interruptions are expected as West First Street South from Curtis Street to Whitcomb Road will remain closed “for quite some time,” Delano said, as the response and investigation of this accident continue in this area.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
