Carl E. Lago, 79, of Baldwinsville died Wednesday at University Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Richland he was a longtime resident of the Baldwinsville area. Carl retired from the maintenance department at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Following retirement Carl returned to work as a maintenance worker at Wal-Mart in Clay.
He was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Liverpool where he was a member of the choir. Carl had a passion for auto racing and music. He had enjoyed going to the local dirt track races. Carl was a self-taught harmonica player who loved playing hymns.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Doreen Dillon who died in 1993.
Surviving: sons, Kenneth (Carissa) Lago of Fulton and Ed (Ruth) Lago of Oklahoma; former wife, Nola Lago of Fulton; sisters, Mary Smith of Mexico and Lavonne White of Henderson; three grandchildren; Jacob Lago, Annie Brickman and Ashley Dillon; several nieces and nephews;
Calling hours are Wednesday 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. There are no funeral services. Spring burial will be at Richland Cemetery.
