Carl M. Potter, 63, of Hannibal, died Thursday at University Hospital. Born in Orwell he was a 40 year resident of Hannibal. Carl retired in 2001 from the Nestle Co. in Fulton after more than 20 years. He was a member of the Altmar American Legion. Carl was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening, technology, woodworking and spending time at his camp and time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Carl was an Air Force veteran serving from 1966 to 1970 achieving the rank of Sgt. Surviving: his wife of 39 years, Karen Kehoe Potter; children, Karl Potter of Hannibal, Susan (Larry) Benavidez of Corpus Christi, TX, Gregory (Heather) Potter of Syracuse, Geoffrey Potter of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, David (Laura) Potter of Orwell; sister, Carolyn (Sam) Clemens of Alberta, Canada; several nieces and nephews. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home, Hannibal. Burial will be private. Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 837 Cayuga Street, Hannibal.
