Carmelina Santoro, 98; of Fulton died at Community General Hospital, Syracuse after a short illness.
She was born in Oswego to the late Charles and Rose (Patti) Penna. Mrs. Santoro retired in 1965 after 37 years from Sealright Co., as a quality controller and typesetter. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and participating in choir.
She was a volunteer with A.L. Lee Memorial Hospitalâ€™s snack bar, and reception desk. She was also a volunteer with Lanigan Elementary School, Fulton. Mrs. Santoro was pre-deceased by her husband Charles C. Santoro in 1978 and her son Charles R. Santoro in 2006.
She is survived by her son Dennis and daughter-in-law Sharon Santoro of Fulton, 2 nephews and several nieces.
Funeral Services will be conducted 9:30 AM Wednesday at Holy Trinity Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be held privately at St. Maryâ€™s Cemetery, Fulton. There will be no calling hours.
