PHOENIX, NY – Carmetta “Carm” McCord, 94, of Lysander, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday August 24, 2013.
She was born in DePeyster, NY, to the late Leon and Elsie (Todd) Kirby.
She lived in Lysander most of her adult life.
Carm worked with her husband, Tom, on their dairy farm, as well as Covilles General Store at Wright’s Corners.
She was a member of the Lysander Ladies Auxiliary and Lamson Grange.
She enjoyed playing cards with the “birthday club girls” each month.
Her greatest joy was visiting with her friends and family.
She was predeceased by her wonderful, loving husband of 70 years, Tom (2006); as well as her sister, Mildred; and her brother, Donald.
She is survived by her children, Patrick (Joan) McCord of South Carolina, Tom (Judy) McCord of Lysander,
Nancy (Don) Gillespie of Adams Center and Elsie (Frank) Waddington of Baldwinsville.
She was blessed with 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her very dear brother-in-law, Bobby Forsythe of North Carolina.
Per Carm’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A private prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix, with a burial to follow at Jacksonville Cemetery.
