PHOENIX, NY – Carolyn A. Caltabiano, 84, of Phoenix, passed away at home peacefully, on Wednesday March 9, 2016.
She was born in Phoenix to her late parents, Nina (Sixberry) and William Neilson on October 3, 1931.
She was a graduate of Phoenix High School, class of 1949.
Carolyn worked for General Electric Co., Syracuse, for 10 years.
Most of her life was spent with her family at their agricultural business, A. A. Caltabiano and Sons.
She loved to arrange flowers, and make preparations to go to market.
Carolyn served on the board of education for Phoenix Central Schools for a total of nine years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred A. “Fred” Caltabiano Sr., on May 10, 2000; her eldest son, Alfred A. “Cal” Caltabiano Jr., on January 6, 2009; as well as her brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her two sons, Angelo William “Billy” (Patty) Caltabiano of Dover, Fla., and Keith R. (Debra) Caltabiano of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Tricia Izyk, William Caltabiano, Amy Caltabiano, Heidi Caltabiano and Brian Caltabiano; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., all in the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix.
Pastor Karen Marshall will officiate the services.
Burial will be in Phoenix Rural Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St., Phoenix.
