Michael Paul Callahan, Matthew Brent Williams and Michael John Kearns became the newest brothers in Lake City 127 Masonic Lodge. On Tuesday, the three men received the First Degree of Masonry and became Entered Apprentices.

Senator Patty Ritchie is inviting nominations from veterans’ posts, family members and community leaders across Northern and Central New York for her inductee in the State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame.

Two Oswego County Opportunities employees were recognized recently. They were  presented with longevity awards for 25 years of service to OCO.

Children and mothers of the M.O.P.S Program (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) recently visited Michaud Residential Health Services and brought Valentines gifts and joy to all. Children went room to room throughout the residence delivering a bag of Valentine’s Day goodies to each resident.

Five Swedish hockey players and their coach from the Syracuse Stampede recently visited the 8th grade Spanish classes at Kenney Middle School in Hannibal. The team is a junior hockey team whose goal is to make sure that the players have the opportunity to earn their way to college by playing hockey.

A rare first printing of the first edition of Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe is now on display at the Oswego Public Library. This work helped to fan the flames of the anti-slavery movement.
