Voters Tap Incumbents, Myer For Oswego School Board

school vote teaserVoters in the Oswego City School District returned two incumbents to the board of education and picked a new member.  The voters also approved the $74,744,748 budget for the 2011 – 2012 school year. They also OK’d Proposition No. 2 – the purchase of 10 new school buses. Sam Tripp, John Dunsmoor and Bill Myer won the three open seats.

Oswego Sub Shop Wins SBA Small Business Excellence Award

Local business Oswego Sub Shop was honored last Monday with an SBA Small Business Excellence Award at the DoubleTree Hotel in East Syracuse. The U.S. Small Business Administration and the New York Business Development Corporation hosted the 13th annual luncheon to recognize the achievements of local small businesses.

Oswego School Polling Places Open Noon – 9 p.m. May 17; One New Polling Place

Oswego City School District voters will be going to the polls on May 17 from noon to 9 p.m. at 10 polling places spread throughout the district. This year the voters in the fifth district or fifth ward in Oswego will be casting their ballots at the Cullinan Ice Rink, located directly behind Kingsford Park Elementary School.
