Catholic Charities Expands Thrift Store Hours

FULTON, NY – In response to the increasing demand for access to Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s thrift store and food pantry, Helen Hoefer, supervisor of Community Services for Catholic Charities of Oswego County, has announced that the hours for both the agency’s thrift store and food pantry have been expanded.

“In the past few weeks we have seen a significant increase in the number of families and individuals wishing to access our thrift store and food pantry,” said Hoefer.  “Thanks to the addition of several new volunteers we are now open on Wednesdays, making both these facilities accessible five days a week.”

Catholic Charities Thrift Store is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

The client choice food pantry at Catholic Charities of Oswego County is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the pantry is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

“We are thankful for our new volunteers and are happy to be able to extend our hours to better serve the community.  We always welcome new volunteers of all ages and appreciate whatever amount of time they feel comfortable sharing with us.  Those interested in learning more about being a volunteer for our food pantry or thrift store may contact me at 315-598-3980, ext. 50,” added Hoefer.

Catholic Charities of Oswego County serves all people in need regardless of their religious affiliation. Primary funding sources for Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s programs are the United Way of Greater Oswego County, the Diocesan Hope Appeal, the County of Oswego and private donations by individuals and local companies and organizations.
