“Since our move we have expanded our number of peer generalists and offer that service to more clients.  Peer generalists promote wellness and provide person-entered recovery-services for clients through individual and group-based support.  Additionally they serve as advocates for clients and help them to facilitate access to appropriate services and assist with communication between clients and other service providers who may help them achieve their goals,” explained Pam Peeling.

Various program offerings help individuals increase their self-esteem, establish group affiliations, and maintain independence in the community.

Currently Step By Step serves more than 100 clients, with 40 to 50 individuals visiting each week and many more who attend the various support groups and special presentations.

“The Step By Step program fills a definite need in our community,” said Peeling.  “The program provides clients with a place to go where they are welcomed and appreciated.  This program is for them, they get to meet new friends, share their experiences and work together to reach their individual goals.”
