Jerry Bisgrove of Arizona and Jack Bisgrove of Auburn, N.Y., principals of the Stardust Foundation and the Stardust Foundation of Central New York, will be recognized with the 2011 Council for Resource Development (CRD) Benefactor Award at a banquet on Friday, November 11, 2011, during the CRD Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
Each year, CRD recognizes the outstanding contributions of 10 donors across the country who have made a difference to their community colleges. These donors are chosen for their dedication, commitment, and pride in their community colleges. The CRD Benefactor Award is the only national showcase to recognize donors to the nation’s community colleges.
Cayuga Community College nominated the Bisgrove brothers for the award based on their years of support for the College and its top-level initiatives, including the Irene A. Bisgrove Community Theatre, Stardust Entrepreneurial Institute, and a host of other initiatives involving the performing arts and entrepreneurship.
“Not only have their gifts directly improved the College, the Bisgroves’ philanthropy inspired others to give to the College,” said Jeffrey Hoffman, executive director of the College Foundation. “They also give generously of their time, especially Jack who lives locally and serves on the boards of the Stardust Entrepreneurial Institute and the College Foundation.”
The CRD Benefactor Award recognizes individuals, foundations, or businesses/corporations for outstanding contributions to community colleges. The CRD Benefactor Award embodies the ideals of philanthropy, leadership, and volunteerism in the service of community, technical, and junior colleges.
