OSWEGO, NY – Contstellation Energy Nuclear Group, CENG, continues its support at Harborfest in 2012 by once again sponsoring the headlining act for the festival on Friday night July 27 as they welcome Kenny Loggins along with Blue Sky Riders to the Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park beginning at 7:30.
“Constellation Energy Nuclear Group and the employees at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station are proud to once again join Harborfest in bringing quality entertainment to Oswego and the surrounding region,” said Ken Langdon, vice president of Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station. “We are fortunate to operate our facility in a community that has long supported the safe production of electricity via nuclear energy at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station; our continued sponsorship of the Friday Night Concert is one of the ways we can give back to this great community.”
Harborfest Program Committee Chairperson Chuck Handley stated that “It is always great to partner with Constellation Energy Nuclear Group each year and try to bring the best available talent to Harborfest so people can see a top quality act at an admission free venue. Kenny Loggins may be the best Friday night act to ever appear at Harborfest as the festival marks its 25th event in 2012.”
By any standard, Loggins’ commercial impact has been extraordinary; 12 of his albums have gone platinum and beyond. In a world of one hit wonders and 15-minute sensations, Loggins has enjoyed hit songs in four straight decades — a remarkable testament to his exceptional craftsmanship and stamina.
Yet the true measure of this man cannot be weighed in platinum and gold. Through it all, Kenny Loggins has earned the faith of those who’ve followed him along the way.
To this day, Loggins continues to write and record at the height of his powers as a singer and a songwriter. This is something that Loggins proves every time he takes the stage to sing his soulful songs straight from the heart.
In the 1980s, Loggins became more famous than ever as the king of the movie theme songs, thanks to massive smashes like “I’m Alright” (from Caddyshack), “Footloose” (from Footloose), “Danger Zone” (from Top Gun), and “Nobody’s Fool” (from Caddyshack II).
Blue Sky Riders, which consists of Kenny Loggins, Georgia Middleman and Gary Burr, will start the night off at 7:30 and then Kenny Loggins takes the stage to perform many of his hits from the past four decades.
