Central Square Community Asked to Help ‘Stuff-A-Bus’

CENTRAL SQUARE, NY – The Central Square School District’s annual Stuff-A-Bus school supply drive will take place in late-August.

stuff a busCommunity members may drop off school supplies from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Central Square Walmart, 3018 East Ave. Just look for a bus with the “Stuff-A-Bus” banner.

The event is hosted by the Central Square Teacher’s Association and the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Suggested supplies include: backpacks, notebooks, loose-leaf paper, composition books, graph paper, binders, pocket folders, pencils, markers, crayons, erasers, rulers, glue sticks, Post-It notes, blue or black pens, highlighters, colored pencils, calculators, white glue, pencil boxes, soft pencil cases, erasable pens and safety scissors.

All items collected at the event and similar drives throughout the county will be distributed to school districts in Oswego County based upon student enrollment.

Home districts will be allotted supplies and then host their own distribution day.

Central Square’s distribution day is on Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the board room of the school district’s Education Center, 642 S. Main St.

Parents or guardians need to bring a copy of both their child’s report card and school supply list from June in order to receive supplies on distribution day.

Millard-Hawk Primary second grade teacher Deborah Morgan said the local event provided 237 students with school supplies for the 2015-2016 school year.
