Central Square Resident Awarded Scholarship

ALFRED, NY – An Oswego County resident has been awarded approximately $17,500 per year for the “Excellence in Education Scholarship” to attend Alfred State.

Jacqueline Julien of Central Square is slated to graduate in 2015 from Paul V Moore High School and intends to enroll in the nursing program.

The “Excellence in Education Scholarship” (free tuition {equivalent to NYS tuition rate}, room {standard room, double occupancy}, and board {14-meal plan}) is awarded to students who possess a 94 or better cumulative high school average through their junior year and who have achieved at least a 1250 combined SAT score or a composite ACT score of 28; students must apply for financial aid.

Recipients must maintain a required grade point average to continue to receive funding in subsequent semesters.

Fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Alfred State offers some 50 associate degree programs, 19 baccalaureate degree programs and two certificate programs.
