Congressman John M. McHugh (R,C,I) today announced that he has secured the recent unanimous endorsement of the Jefferson-Lewis-St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council.  Rep. McHugh has received the Council’s endorsement every time he has run for re-election to Congress.

“I am honored to once again receive the endorsement of the Jefferson-Lewis-St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council.  This is a great organization that does a tremendous job representing the interests of so many hard-working families throughout Northern New York,” said Rep. McHugh.  “I want to personally thank President Ron McDougall, the Executive Board, as well as the entire Council organization, for lending my reelection campaign such invaluable support.  As my record in elective office demonstrates, I have always made it a priority to fight for the rights of America’s working men and women.  Clearly, they deserve no less.”

Rep. McHugh has demonstrated a strong record of supporting workers’ right to organize and collectively bargain since he was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1992.  He has consistently voted to support and sustain the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage law, opposed unfair trade agreements and supported efforts to bring affordable, effective health care to all Americans.
