SYRACUSE, NY – Following the securement of sufficient State funding to avoid originally-proposed substantial reductions in Centro transit services, previously considered proposals to discontinue Weeknight, Saturday Night, Holiday, and Sunday bus services have all been dropped.
Today (April 24), the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority (CNYRTA) Board of Members did vote to make certain system-wide adjustments to its discount fare pass program, as well as adjustments to some of its services in Oneida and Cayuga counties.
ALL SINGLE RIDE FARES WILL REMAIN UNCHANGED SYSTEM-WIDE.
The current 7-Day and 30-Day “unlimited ride” passes will be discontinued.
In Onondaga County, they will be replaced with discounted passes good for 20 or 30 rides at a 10% discount, which will have no expiration date.
The current 10-Ride passes will be offered at a discount of 10% rather than the current 25%.
Special discount passes will no longer be available for State Fair Express “Park-N-Ride” services.
To increase the efficiency and performance of some Utica area services, adjustments will be made to the frequency of some routes.
NO ROUTES OR SERVICES WILL BE ELIMINATED.
Effective June 29, 2015, bus route #5 / Lake – Owasco within the city of Auburn will be discontinued due to a low level of ridership.
