Century Marathon and ½ Marathon Training Runs Scheduled

Continuing each Sunday, beginning at 7:00 am a series of training runs will be available to those interested in training for the Century Marathon and ½ Marathon scheduled for October 11, 2009. Your training run trainers are Sam Familo and Beth (Wells) Foederer. Beth and Sam are volunteering their time to assist local runners looking to train for the race. They both have many years of running under their feet and are anxious to work with everyone. Beth just recently became a Letter Winner of Distinction for Syracuse University Athletics. This award is given based on her SU Career and what she is doing now.

Trainers recommend you are able to complete a ten-mile run before you join in the long runs. The trainers will keep a slower pace to allow everyone to participate. There will be several turn-around or turn-off points for runners to head back to the YMCA if they aren’t ready for the full training distance.

Run with participants at your fitness level (be encouraged!) Train in a positive atmosphere. HAVE FUN!
Sunday morning training run dates for the coming weeks are as follows:

· July 5th………..……..10 miles
· July 12th………………12 miles
· July 19th…….……….13-14 miles
· July 26th……..………15 miles
