Certified First Responder Course Offered in Williamstown

Williamstown — The Oswego County Emergency Management Office/Emergency Medical Services will offer a Certified First Responder Original and Refresher course beginning Sept. 9 at Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department.

The course will be held Thursday evenings and two Saturdays. A New York State written exam will be held Dec. 16, 2010.

This course is intended for those emergency workers who could be first to arrive at an emergency medical scene, such as firefighters, police officers, or those wishing to become emergency medical technicians in the future.

The New York State Certified First Responder curriculum provides students with the core knowledge, skills, and attitude to function in the capacity of a Certified First Responder and assist other Emergency Medical Services providers.
