Chicken Barbeque to Benefit Foreign Missions Trip

The Elim Grace Christian Church of 340 West First Street, Oswego, is happy to announce that its members will be hosting a Chicken Barbeque on Saturday, October 2 from noon until sold out. The cost is $ 8.00 each.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will support Elim Grace’s mission “to reach the nations with the proclamation of life in Christ by service, word, worship and prayer” and will benefit a foreign missions trip to the Philippines in 2011.

Compassion, a burden, seeing and feeling the physical and spiritual needs of people is at the root of being a missionary. A missionary is one who is sent out voluntarily. Elim’s mission is to send volunteers to help meet the physical, educational and spiritual needs of people.

The mission is to also HELP the local church wherever they are serving. While there they want to serve the parishioners – work hard with them, care for them, and show them what they are doing is worthwhile. We want to join our tears with theirs.

Being a missionary requires tears, sweat and blood. It requires a strong work ethic, diligence, passion, and sacrifice/personal cost.

“We have to minister to these children because they are the future,” stated Morgan Snyder, member of Elim’s mission team. “From teaching Vacation Bible School to just hanging out with them, it is a beautiful experience.”
