Child Advocacy Center Ready to Serve Annual Wing Fest

OSWEGO, NY – The menu is set and the beverages are chilling in preparation for the Child Advocacy Center’s sixth annual Wing Fest.

Scheduled for March 10 the CAC Wing Fest will be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, East First Street in Oswego 6 to 10 p.m. with wings being served from 6 – 9 p.m.

CAC’s Wing Fest features samples of chicken wings from a variety of Oswego County’s favorite eateries.

Participants to date include: Alex’s on the Water, Bistro 197, Dino’s, Garafolo’s, GJP Oswego, Greene’s, Kristen’s Kitchen, Malone’s Irish Hideaway and Steamers.

“Our Wing Fest is a fun event for a great cause,” said CAC Executive Director Karrie Damm. “While guests enjoy a tasty selection of wings and beverages the participating restaurants engage in friendly competition to see who will win the Golden Chicken Award for Best Tasting Wings.”

Each restaurant will offer samples of a traditional flavor chicken wing as well as their signature chicken wing.

Eagle Beverage will also be on hand to offer samples of micro-brews, ciders, wines and spirits.

Entertainment for the evening will feature the smooth sounds of local favorites The Cortini Brothers.

In addition to the wings and beverages, there will be a number of drawings and activities including a “cork and cap pull,” silent auction, and a very special announcement regarding the future of the CAC.

“It’s going to be an exciting night. I encourage community members to join us for an enjoyable evening that helps support our mission of ending child abuse in Oswego County,” said Damm.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the CAC, a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, medical providers, mental health providers, and victim advocacy professionals in Oswego County to protect and serve child victims of sexual and physical abuse.

In 2016, the CAC served 500 children and families in Oswego County.

The CAC’s main office is located at 301 Beech St. in Fulton; there is also a satellite office at 4822 Salina St. in Pulaski.

A limited amount of tickets for the CAC’s Wing Fest are available online.
