Don’t know what you want to do this summer? Do you want to learn how to make clay pots, write a play, create a sculpture, learn clowning and makeup design? All this and much, much more will be taught in the first Art/Theater Workshop for kids. Have fun this summer in a non-competitive and creative learning environment. All instructors are kid friendly and certified in art and/or theater.

This summer the Oswego Children’s Theater and the Art Association will work together to offer students a fun filled month of July.

The Art Association will be offering two Pottery Studios, two Sculpture Studios, a Printmaking Studio, and a Painting Studio. The cost of a 15 hour studio class is $90 for non AAO members and $75 for members. Class descriptions can be found at www.oswegoarts.org and a flyer will be sent home with your child from school. All students 6-12 are welcome and registration is required by June 30. Please call 342-0780 or 591-8401 to register.

You may choose the classes you would like to take in theater and in art and, you will be supervised as long as you are registered for a class. Theater #1 (July 7- July 11) consists of two separate classes: Mask Making (1-2pm) and Puppetry #1 (2-4pm). Theater #2 (July 14 – 18): Clowning (1-2pm) and Playmaking (2-4pm).

Theater #3 and #4 are geared to students ages 13-18. Theater #3 (July 21- 25) classes: Stage Design (1-2pm) and Puppetry #1 (2-4pm). Students should bring a snack and, if they are spending the day with us (9-4pm), should bring a bag lunch.

Lunch time will be supervised and will consist of reflection time, games and, weather permitting, maybe a swim in the local pool. Only students who are registered for classes will be supervised by teachers, all others must be picked up at the end of class by their parent or guardian.
