Children All Set for Debut ‘Wonderland’ at Harborfest


OSWEGO, NY – The eighth annual Harborfest musical, Wonderland, will be presented by area students, under the direction of Bobbie Palange and Rocky Farden.

The “Wonderland” cast has been rehearsing for the upcoming Oswego Harborfest production which will be held at the Novelis Family Park Children’s Tent several times during this weekend’s event.

The musical is based on Lewis Carroll’s classic story, Through the Looking Glass, script by James DeVita, music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur.

Wonderland is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service.

Thirty-five young people from Hannibal, Mexico, Fulton and Oswego fill out the cast of strange and wonderful characters:

Alice is played by Audrey Hinman. Matt Caraccioli plays the Mad Hatter. White Rabbit is Megan Albright. The Red and White Royalty are portrayed by Laura Bornheimer, Donald Austin, Mary Bornheimer and Matt Bornheimer. The Knights are Emma DeLoff and Emma Domachowski. The Red and White Pawns are: Sarah Fisch, Ava Cloonan, Vita Marie Dean, Emalee Herrington,Sydney Frantz, Angelina Levendusky, Kaila Loadwick, Kim Kaleta and Nealy Pippin. Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee are Zeida Olson and Morgan Samson.

David Harvey, Liam Hinman, Sean Metcalf and Ben Norton play the Proper Authorities.

Humpty Dumpty is portrayed by Matt Oldenburg with Mya Kinder and Sierra Palmer as the Dixie Chickens. Kyra Baker and Brianna Harrington are the Unicorn and Lion.

Alexandra Reith, Isabella Pelow, Leah Norton, Cassara Jones, London Jones and Indigo Davis round out the cast as the Tourists.

Dr. Mihoko Tsutsumi provides piano accompaniment with violinist Caroline Chatterton and cellist Ben Chatterton.

Set construction by Bill Palange with Dave Chatterton; set design by Rebecca Chatterton with Marie Chatterton.

Costume design is by Jeanette Reyner.

Choreography support from Jessica Goodnoe of Creative Dance.

Support for the Children’s Park comes from Novellis and the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.

Performances will take place in the Children’s Tent in West Park on July 24 at 4 p.m., on July 25 at 11 a.m. with a second performance at 2:30 p.m. and on July 26 at 11 a.m.
